Gapless trays with a magnet slot are fitted with centered 1/8" holes to slot rare earth magnets into. They come with filler bits to hold the models in place and have no outside rail to maximize model contact. Filler bits arrive unattached and are best glued in place with CA (super) glue.
Gapless trays with a border frame have a tight lip rounding the edge to keep your models in place with no fuss. These trays are supplied assembled and ready to go.
